- Do I need a HubSpot admin to get started?
- Yes — installing the integration requires a HubSpot admin to authorize OAuth. After install, owners and admins handle day-to-day commission setup inside PayClarity. Most teams complete setup in under thirty minutes.
- Is there a free trial?
- Every workspace starts with a 14-day free trial on the Unlimited plan — no credit card required. Connect HubSpot, run rules, and see real commission lines before deciding.
- Will reps see everyone else's commissions?
- No. Role-based access controls who sees what. Reps see only their own earnings and statements; managers see their direct reports; admins and finance see the full workspace.
- Can we export for payroll?
- Yes. Approved lines and payout batches export to CSV in formats ready for your payroll or finance system — no re-keying from spreadsheets.
- Do you support QuickBooks, Xero, or other accounting tools?
- PayClarity connects to QuickBooks Online, Xero, Zoho Books, and FreshBooks so you can sync invoices and payments, preview suggested deal matches, and use auto-map when confidence is high. HubSpot remains the system of record for deal data.
- How does PayClarity handle split commissions?
- You can split any deal across multiple reps — AE, SDR, partner, manager — with explicit percentages. PayClarity resolves overlapping rules using priority order, so there are never surprises about which rule fired.
- Can I cap commission payouts?
- Yes — caps are configurable per rule and per workspace. You can cap by absolute dollar amount, percentage of deal, or attainment tier, and the engine respects caps when calculating splits and tiered rates.
- How do approvals work?
- Build a multi-step approval chain (typically rep → manager → finance). PayClarity routes each commission line through the chain with full context — the deal, the rule, the calculated amount — and logs every approval, rejection, and edit.
- What about retroactive deal changes?
- Deals frequently change after they close — amount corrections, post-close splits, payment terms. PayClarity recalculates affected commissions automatically and flags lines that were already paid so finance can issue corrections rather than overwrite history.
- Is my data secure?
- Yes. Each workspace's data is isolated, communications use HTTPS, sessions are protected by HttpOnly cookies, and we follow a strict CSP. PayClarity never sells your data and uses it only to run the service.
- What happens to my data if I cancel?
- Your data stays in your workspace for 90 days after cancellation. You can export everything before that. We never sell your data, and reactivating restores all your rules and history.
- Do you offer onboarding help?
- Yes. We help every paid workspace get their first commission running, and we offer extended setup support for complex comp plans (multi-tier, split heavy, accounting-integrated). Most teams don't need it — the rule builder is designed to be self-service.
